View Full Version : Wanna See D3 on Console (eventually)?

Would you like to see Diablo 3 on a console? Well we might want to actually play the PC version first but...

"Every game we have the discussion about which platforms make the most sense," said Morhaime in an interview (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55256) with Shacknews at BlizzCon. "As Diablo 3 takes shape, I think we'll do an evaluation. I think there is a pretty good argument to be made that that type of game might work very well on consoles. There might be some technical limitations though that we might need to get past."



Backing up Morhaime's comments were those made by Diablo 3 director Jay Wilson, who also thinks console versions of Diablo 3 could work well. "We haven't really decided to take the [console] plunge," Wilson said. "We've really come to the conclusion that [Diablo 3] is probably the best fit because the control scheme is actually not that incompatible. So if we were to make that decision, Diablo would be the natural choice."

It's way, way too early to be thinking about this already... but those console fanboys always seem to want and try and steal some of our best PC games and in this case, the PC game hasn't even been released and won't be for quite a while! Patience!

People play games like WOW with 6 different mouse buttons + the keyboard... and they want to try and play the same sort of thing on a console with a controller?

I don't think so.

Now it seems like "they are strongly considering it"... whatever. How about completing the PC version first!

well, I just don't really think that console version would work. In case they made for consoles D3 would be somehow similar to Revenant (1999 Eidos RPG wich was discontinued) where you actually control the character with keyboard like shooters but symetric 3D view.

blizzard is located in a capitalist nation it will expand to consoles if they feel the need 2, but but they need ppl who can do that kind of thing because a pc game disc sure as hell dosn't run in a ps3 so they need to hire new ppl to do that if they haven't already for that game that has been heard about for like 3 years... which is starcraft ghost btw.

... im pretty sure the consoles would have there own servers so you wouldn't have to worry about that. regardless i prefer shooters on the console and games like diablo on the PC. i wouldn't mind if after the release they started working on it for console, but right now i want the best possible game for the PC. anything that could take away from that should be put on hold until after the release of diablo 3.
